Robert Garcia

Robert Garcia is a junior at Highland Park High School.  His hobbies include track, soccer, building, reading, hiking, rock climbing, camping, and drawing.  His favorite part of high school is all the classes students can choose from. He enjoys the variety and it really helps him as a student want to come and learn because he is in classes that teach subjects that he wants to learn about.  His post high school plans include going to college and getting an Architecture/Drafting degree, then joining with an architectural firm and practicing architecture there.  The VBI project made Robert think about how poorly the suburbs are being designed. But it also made him appreciate the variety of looks on the cities lay out and how it’s not just on a grid like in Chicago. He gained a better understanding of Chicago.  He learned more about its history and how the overall design of the city came to be.  This knowledge helps Robert better understand the rich architecture of this great American city.
